These monster and all their types: Blunderbore, Thorned Hulk, Reanimated Horde, Claw Viper. And shows up in a large amount of areas. Nova you will often get in range of these and get into crazy FHR mode.
You haven't done much PVM and it shows.

With your setup I lose 596mana. That's about 12% of my total mana. Versus 4.9% damage with the extra skill.
I've done calculations prior to this ofc. I rather want want that 12% mana over 4.9% damage.

Neither of our options are incorrect though.

how do you deal with blood mana?

With tis amount of health and life from with triple dip prayer it's really a non-issue.

Half of the time they curse merc to override the blood mana to the lower defense one.

For me, that was what i was using for like forever until my friend gifted me a gloom armor for my merc
He said try it out, its great for blinding burning soul packs and stuff
And to this day im still using gloom on my merc because its actually useful

so your mana > life? If so, how do you deal with Blood Mana?

and I'll make Gloom as it's way cheaper than CoH. not sure how well no LL on Merc works

Yup im embarrassed to show my life/manapool though because of Roneye XD
Currently have 700life/3.1kmana, maxed out psn res, the other res are trash but doesnt matter at all
I deal with blood mana by running away lol
If i get cursed, i either wait for it to wear off or just spam nova with full rejuvs
Honestly youd just have to try coh/gloom yourself and see how you like both
I like gloom better atm because my merc doesnt die either way and dim vision helps
