cow needs no mf at all, since u r aiming for sockatables and high runes. squeeze out as much damage as u can, so ormus with cold damage (blizzard would be ideal but expensive) / nightwings (3 cold circ) / 2x spirit or better / 2x bk (cheaper then soj) / 3 cold amu / snow clash belt.

later on, if ur equip is decent, switch to frost nova or nova while doing terror zones. teleport from rare mob to rare mob, leave the rest alive.

setup for nova / life: sunder light, griffons, crescent moon, spirit shield, arach, magefist, 2 sorc 10 fcr amu, 2x bk, skullder (enigma later on). hybrids with 2-3x tal ( amu, armour, orb, in that order) exist. important is the 105 fcr- cap. high dps variants for multiplayers with nova ormus do exist.

setup for ice nova: alibaba "ist ist" / skullders / spirit shield / arach / magefist / circ: cold skills + 20 fcr / amu : sorc + 10 fcr / 2x bk. high dps- variants with death fathom + nightwings and eventually ice nova ormus do exist.

since u need a lot of strength for the spirit shield, an ethereal upped skullders is a viable option for u.

fireball / meteor is just bad. u wiill need at least fire sunder + phoenix + several fire facets before u deal damage to immunes. tc 85 areas with no fire immunes are really rare and take a long way to teleport at. than u have to find a safe place to wait for a meteor or u need to aim several fireballs to clear a rare mob with his pack. blizzard is way cheaper and easier to start, cold provides additional safety and provided a decent gear, nova has the greater quality of life. no targeting is needed and everything in the area is dead within 1-2 seconds.

i used to clear pindle every baal run back at launch and still do on hc at ladder reset. in thousands of kills i've gotten a ber rune off one of his minions. probably just bad luck but for me i haven't seen him drop anything good in d2r

He's never dropped a single HR for me, but he dropped about 85%+ of my Holy Grail. His best drop was a perfect Windforce, and everything below that came regularly. I'm leaning towards not having him as my go-to MF spot. Soloing Mephi, Diablo and Baal might be better for me. But as I asked above, would a Tal's set and an Infinity merc be enough to clear the throne room or chaos sanctuary? Could I keep using Blizzard or would I have to respec into nova or something?

not sure how blizz is now, haven't played it since before the first ladder season, but i was able to do it back then. would just need the merc to kill cold immunes. now with sunder it's probably easier.
