fire/light/cold res matters very little.
but switching out viper for ormus is not as good as it sounds. the +2 to nova also means -1 es, -1 warmth, -1 mastery, -13 mdr, -35 poison res and -10 fcr. and I'm guessing you're using a pretty basic 2/20 amu, so there's some potential stat loss there as well
