Was just theorycrafting some, wondering why people don't just use stormshield on a hdin? I know how it sounds, but way I see it, it looks like a decent stash swap for a full vita hdin w/ no str or dex invested. Say if I want my pally to be full vita for hvn, hvh etc. Then if I want to hvd or hvz, I don't really need any str or dex invested for mb/dr with coa/dungos. All I need is a stormshield, which gives me the dps of a coa/dungo setup, or more dps if I want to use a bk/soj. The only worry is maybe less life replenish or mana, or stack if you wanna bm in pubs. Am I missing something or is there a reason why people don't use it? That setup has potentially more total hp considering str/dex investment, more mana as well if I have a circ with mana:

circlet shael+cham or shael+jah
trangs glove
nig
shadow dancer
arach
fcr amu+fcr ring, last ring slot flexible

No just don't. This is probably the dumbest idea I've heard today.

Ss with ber vs necs and other hdins? You know that they magic dealers right?
Also enjoy getting fhr locked vs dudu or a trapper

What I listed was the stash swap for druids, zons etc. The hvn/hvh setup is obviously spirit, bloodfist, bk rings etc. The point is that a stormshield setup maxes out on mb/dr with zero investment in str/dex, something that a coa/dungos setup does not.

It sounds like you are trolling, because all this is just elementary stuff..

What are you gaining? Really? Did you calculate all the break points? Also waterwalks > shadow dancers

You will have severe resist problems without spirit and coa ontop not to mention a ring slot like soj/bk. Which means less damage

It sounds like you don't understand what an mb swap is. If you don't then idk what you are being so vocal about. Anyway, why would you need res against windies and bowazons? I'm puzzled lol

how are you getting 156 str without stat points? ber shako ber zak nigma dungo=49% dr, max block, more life than fcr set up, more damage than fcr set up

Cold res is good vs hurricane

Zons deal poison and lightning damage.


The only time a Paladin should be using stormshield is in very specific GM melee vs melee setups, particularly when you are trying to scale defense.

Hdin and vt should never use stormshield, even if you are a HC random that thinks pvm is hard

It sounds like you don't understand basic maths and stat distribution and breakpoints

Why don't you add up the stats with ss vs spirit setup.

This game is 20+ years old, if you don’t see people doing something there’s a good reason for it

people thought that 10 year ago the game is way different now.
