Hi,

Im playing hardcore d2 first time ever. I just came to 1a hell with my 65lvl hammer pally and wonder how can I survive there. From what I understand, there are another items that ppl value in hardcore, especially those with damage reduction, but I dont rly know all the items.

Here is my question: Is there any tutorial how to dress up at d2r 2.4 patch on hell to survive? I dont wanna die young :D Im interested on any tips of what to buy/find. Would be perfect to know how to do it without spending much fg, but end game eq info is also valuable for me.

My eq currently:
- some low spirit in weapon and pally shield (17def)
- sazabi helmet (cuz of +1 skills and some resi)
- viper +27resi
- trangoul gloves
- sigon belt
- aldurs boots 50fire resi
- 2 yellow rings with 10fcr and some resi
- yellow amu with some resi
- some scs/gcs with resi

it makes my resi looks like this:
- 75 fire,
- 75 cold,
- 34 light,
- 51 poison

also only 51% block chance and only 1400 def.

on nightmare I was mainly invicible but those small skeletons from 5a that explode on death almost killed me on the way to baal.

Get storm shield with Lo rune

Use 15 mdr dwarfs

Use hotspurs

Enigma is your friend

Shako with Lo rune

15 mdr string of ears

Good luck broski...

And try not to let dolls explode on you... try to tele away and have hammer hit them from a distance

For HC you’re at least 10 levels too low for Hell.

This is correct. In hc u norm baal to 50, nm baal to 75. Assuming ur self progressing and mfing that is.

Storm shield for damage reduction
Shako for damage reduction
Thunder gods for light absorb
Guardian Angel For resistance+Max block
Dwarf and raven rings for mdr+absorb
Hotspurs If need fire res
Rising sun amulet If still need Fire absorb
Holyshield+dexterity for Max block
Try Have 75+fcr with storm shield or 125fcr with spirit shield

thanks for your answers. Now I have 77 lvl and most of items that you mentioned. I have question. Should I wear thunder gods for light absorb OR string of ears? currently have string but maybe its not mandatory if I also have stormshield

Depends places you are playing, If there is Souls, gloams or Lightning Enchanted enemies. Use thunder gods.

String of ears or Arachnid Mesh work other areas

Underleveled too much. With hammers, best defense is offense. Don't go to hell without maxing hammer synergies. 125fcr means thicker hammer clouds. See whether you can achieve this, too. Single most important armor peace for you would be a vipermagi armor. Guardian angel is an overrated piece of junk.
