pvp pub char, actually oddly effective, but mostly annoying as hell.
goal is to slow your target into the ground while u smite them down with ur garbage smite dmg you get by just grief and skills (it's not that bad but not the same as a normal smiter)
anyhow here we go:
blackhorn's face 'cham' (lightning absorb, 20% slow, what more can i say?)
cleglaw (25% slow, what more can i say? this char is supposed to be annoying)
grief phase blade (source of damage for smite, obv) < another ''annoying'' option is lawbringer phase blade which has a 20% chance per smite to apply decrepify for even more slow, but u won't have any smite dmg
enigma low str (teleport obv, you could also use guardian angel to be an annoying little prick and absorb even more)
arach or dungo (i'd use arach with stormshield setup)
marrowwalk boots (bone prison and lifetap charges, u annoying little fucker)
stormshield ber or sanctuary sacred targe 45@ base 115@ total (slow missile charges, we're supposed to be annoying, remember?) < also slow missile is gonna get a buff as of 2.4, making enemies deal less missile damage and it also has more range
wisp20 (some absorb, but mainly oak for meat shield)
2 pala 20 fcr amu (some fcr for teleport)
10 fcr nice stat ring (dont need raven, we use cham helm and we need this to hit both 30 fcr with dungo and 48 fcr with arach)
skills:
20 holy freeze (you're annoying, let this dumb aura have more slow and extend to nearly 2 full screens radius to make sure you annoy everyone around you)
20 fana
20 smite
~10-20 holy shield
1 in foh to stunlock
perhaps some into resist fire/lightning to increase your maximum resist, depending how much u wanna absorb ur opponents, you could also put some in charge but its not that strong without highlords (perhaps an idea if you went guardian angel/charge based setup)
goal is to aim for lvl 31 holy freeze (you might need an off sk or 2) at 24 yards radius for 57% slow, 45% slow from gear, slow missiles, some nasty absorb, 30 or 48 fcr, 50%dr , fhr will be kinda low but shouldnt matter as of 2.4you smite or charge them, they get slowed, cast slow missile on them to make them unable to do shit if theyre a caster, use ur marrowwalk bone prison charges to annoy them even more and keep them in place before you telestomp them
however keep in mind you will have a ton of keybindings: tele holy freeze smite charge fana, slow missile, bone prison, life tap charges, foh for stulock (so better make sure you have them set).
been using this in legacy d2 pub games and i've made some ppl seriously ragequit.
50% slow is cap for pvp, however according to amazon basin that counts for slow % from gear. holy freeze & decrepify do add onto it (which i've tested ingame)
amazon basin: Sums with attack rate and velocity reduction from cold length, Holy Freeze and Decrepify, although no unit can be reduced below 15% attack rate or 25% velocity. [3]
