The Teleport-Bowzon Guide

Table of Contents
1. Introduction
2. Gear
3. Skills
4. Stats

__________________________________________________

1. - Introduction - Hello, this is a guide meant to provide people with a fun, unique, and effective character choice. The teleport-bowzon is an amazon which uses the skill teleport, along with conventional amazon skills, to player vs. player. I have used both normal amazons, ones that would be found in other guides on here, and teleport-bowzons, and in my opinion teleport-bowzons are both more fun and more versatile. The ability to teleport in a duel is an extremely useful tool. I will list the most effective (which also will be the most expensive) gear and build choices for a teleport-bowzon. If you would like to know any cheaper build choices for this character feel free to pm me. Thank you.

2. - Gear - There are many different gear options and switches that can be utilized while playing on this character, and I will list all of the main ones.

Faith Build

Weapon - Faith of Ice Grand Matron Bow - To reach the attack speed bp on a teleport-bowzon a faith of ice hybrid runeword is the best option. The extra 20% attack speed makes up for attack speed lost on other items which are replaced by specific items necessary for this build.

Armor - Enigma of Duress or Enigma - I would recommend having both an enigma of duress hybrid runeword and a regular enigma runeword. An enigma of duress gives you extra hit recovery and extra resistances. It is most effective in duels vs. sorceresses or other elemental damage characters. A regular enigma gives you extra health and extra damage reduction. It is most effective in duels vs. barbarians or other physical damage characters.

Helmet - Rare Circlet with 2 amazon skill levels/20% faster cast rate/2 open sockets - A helmet with 20% faster cast rate is required for this build to reach the 68% faster cast rate bp. The stats listed to the left are only the basic stats necessary on the helmet, good additions to your helmet would be dexterity, life, and/or resistances. The sockets in this item need to be filled with 2x 15% ias jewels. My recommendation would be for these jewels to be 15% ias/40% enhanced damage jewels, but they could be 15% ias/+15 all resistance jewels if you prefer resistance to damage. The 30% increased attack speed and 20% faster cast rate in your helmet both will be essential to reaching their respective break points.

Gloves - Crafted Gloves with 20% increased attack speed/knockback - These will need to be crafted chain gloves or the exceptional/elite versions of chain gloves, as only these types of crafted gloves can receive the mod knockback, which is extremely useful in duels. The 20% increased attack speed is also an essential component to your gloves on the faith build, as it is required to reach the attack speed bp. The stats listed on the left are only the minimum stats required, good additional mods would be 2 passive and magic skills, dexterity, and/or resistances (strength is not required to reach the 84 strength requirement of wyrmhide).

Belt - Crafted Belt with 10% faster cast rate/24% faster hit recovery/Strength - A belt with faster cast rate is needed to reach 68% faster cast rate on this character. It needs to have 8 or more faster cast rate, so an arachnid mesh could also be a choice, but I prefer a crafted belt. Crafted belts give extra mods that arachnid mesh does not, such as faster hit recovery, strength, and also life. To reach the 84 strength requirement of wyrmhide, you will need to have 24 or more strength on your belt. Additional mods that aren't required but are useful would be life and/or resistances.

Boots - War Travelers - War Travelers are a common unique boot, but they give incredible bonuses to damage as well as vitality. But the use of war travelers is not necessary for this build, so the choice of footwear is whatever you prefer best. Another good option would be boots from the patch .08, which give 20% faster hit recovery and resistances (versions are different on each realm, but an example would be imp shank chain boots on USWest)

Amulet - Crafted Amulet with 2 amazon/20% faster cast rate - Again, to reach the 68% faster cast rate break point, faster cast rate is required on your amulet. To reach the necessary cast rate it will need to be crafted (it needs 18% or more faster cast rate). This is an item where you would be losing faster cast rate, which is why the faith of ice is your best choice. Mods that would also be useful on your amulet would be dexterity, life, and/or resistances.

Rings - Crafted or Rare Rings with 10% faster cast rate/Dexterity/Life/Resistances/Mana - 10% faster cast rate will be required on each of your rings to reach the desired cast rate bp. But your rings are also a good source of many other useful mods, like dexterity, life, and resistances mainly. I say mana is a requirement of your ring as well because on this build you will be teleporting, which costs a decent amount of mana, so the more of it, the better. Personally I prefer rare rings to crafted, as you can get more mods, but crafted rings can be used if you would prefer higher amounts of life.

Weapon Switch - Ethereal Upgraded Titans and Jeweler's Monarch of Deflecting - The weapon switch to a teleport-bowzon is something that you can play around with depending on which items you like the most on it, but my personal favorite for a switch would be titans and jmod. They provide an effective way of fighting melee characters without leaving yourself without block. Jeweler's Monarch of Deflecting can be replaced by Stormshield for increased damage reduction, but with a jmod you have much more control of what stats you have on your weapon switch. Titans can also be replaced with a Call to Arms, which is used for casting Battle Orders and Battle Command. This gives you much more life than a titan switch, and is effective if you find yourself only using your bow side, and not your weapon switch.

Torch - 20/20 Amazon Torch - Not much explanation required here, a torch with 20 to attributes and 20 to resistances is the most effective option.

Annihilus - 20/20 Annihilus - Same as torch, the higher the attributes and the higher the resistances, the better.

Charms - 37x 3 Max Damage/Attack Rating/Life Small Charms - For an amazon which uses teleport and is not required to walk, the faster run/walk which is commonly found on bowazon inventories is not required. Life is a much more useful stat to gain from your inventory on a teleport-bowzon. The max damage and attack rating is essential because it gives large bonuses to damage. Attack rating is also useful on a bowzon for the skill "Multiple Shot" (more on multiple shot in the "skills" section of this guide).

Windforce Build

Weapon - .08 Windforce Hydra Bow - A windforce is another option for a weapon when using a teleport-bowzon. While I find the Faith Build more effective, the Windforce Build also has its uses. Essentially when using a windforce you are trading attack speed for damage. The attack speed on windforce is much slower than that of faith, but the damage is much higher. The jewel is windforce should be a 15% increased attack speed/40% enhanced damage jewel, for more attack speed and damage when using windforce. A .08 windforce is a better choice than a windforce from the current patch. .08 windforce has 35 to dexterity instead of 5 to strength and 10 to dexterity like the current windforce, which gives you higher damage than you would have if using a current patch windforce.

Armor - Same as above -

Helmet - Same as above -

Gloves - Trang-Oul's Gloves - Because of the knockback that is present on windforce, you no longer need the knockback to come from your gloves. This gives you some freedom with your choice of gloves, but trang-ouls gloves give you 20% faster cast rate to free up other pieces of gear. Gloves with 2 passive and magic skills/20% increased attack speed/dexterity/crushing blow/life/resistance would be another good choice in your gloves.

Belt - Nosferatu's Coil - If you are using trang-oul's gloves in your windforce build, then you no longer need the 10% faster cast rate from your belt that you did in the Faith Build. Nosferatu's Coil Vampirefang Belt gives you 10% increased attack speed as well as slows target, both of which greatly aid any amazon. Any number of other belts are decent choices as well, and should be swapped depending on the character that you are dueling against. Verdungo's can be used for added vitality and damage reduction, which are most effective against melee characters. Another choice would be Razortail, but this belt has limited uses. The only reason to use a Razortail would be to get higher damage on your character, so in most situations either nosferatu's coil or verdungo's would be better options.

Boots - Same as above -

Amulet - Same as above -

Rings - Same as above -

Weapon Switch - Same as above -

Torch - Same as above -

Annihilus - Same as above -

Charms - Same as above -

3. - Skills - The number of skill points on each character will differ, but for the purpose of this guide I will put the skills as those of a level 90.

20 points into Guided Arrow - Guided Arrow will be your main attack on a teleport-bowzon. Guided arrow shoots an arrow that tracks its target. Attack rating is not required for guided arrow, so you do not need to worry about that

9 points into Multiple Shot - Multiple shot is a skill that shoots out large numbers of arrows in an arc across the map. The reason that only 9 points are required for Multiple Shot is because the maximum number of arrows that can be shot using this skill are 24, which is hit with 24 points into the skill. Using your Faith Build, you should have 15 points into bow and crossbow skills from your gear and charms, which when combined with the 9 hard points you put into it, give you 24 to multiple shot. Any additional points only increase the mana cost.

20 points into Critical Strike - On a teleport-bowzon, your damage will not be as high as that of normal bowzons. Any additional damage from your skills is an essential component to the success of a teleport-bowzon. Critical strike gives you a chance to do double damage, which greatly assists your damage.

1 point into Penetrate - Penetrate gives you bonus attack rating. While attack rating is not a large part of your character (as guided arrow does not use ar), attack rating is still useful when using the skill Multiple Shot.

1 point into Pierce - Pierce gives your missiles a chance to pass through enemies. It is most useful when dueling characters that use summons, such as druids or necromancers. The ability for the missiles of your skills to travel through their summons is very useful in dueling those types of characters.

1 point into Lightning Fury - Lightning fury is the skill that you will use on your weapon switch if you use the Titan's Revenge option. Lightning Fury throws a javelin which splits apart on impact and adds lightning damage, which is effective when dueling characters using your weapon switch. If your teleport-bowzon uses the Call to Arms option on your weapon switch instead of Titan's, a point in Lightning Fury is not required.

20 points into Dodge - Dodge is a passive skill which gives you a chance to not get hit by a melee attack when you are either attacking or standing still. Dodge is useful when using teleport-amazons because it helps to make up for the fact that they do not have incredibly high life, and therefor die relatively easily. Dodging attacks play a large part in the survival of teleport-amazons.

20 points into Avoid - Avoid is a passive skill which gives you a chance to not get by a missile attack when you are either attacking or standing still. It is useful for the same reasons as Dodge on teleport-bowzons, but it is used for missile attacks instead of melee attacks.

1 point into Evade - Evade is a passive skill which gives you a chance to not get hit by any attacks when walking or running. Evade is not as important as dodge or avoid to a teleport-bowzon because, again, you will not be doing very much walking on it. 1 point just helps in case you are caught walking.

Extra Skill Points - Depending on what level your character is you may have more skill points. Any left-over skill points should be put into the skill Evade.

_________________________________________________

4. - Stats - The number of stats on characters will differ, but it should not matter for the purpose of this guide.

Strength - No points into strength are required, you will have enough points of strength added from your items to be able to equip all of your gear.

Dexterity - The number of points in dexterity can differ with each player and their preferences, but the best option for dexterity would be to put points into dexterity until you do roughly 4,000 damage with your Faith Build. With the number of points of dexterity that this requires you will also have max block with your weapon switch, which is important.

Vitality - The number of points in vitality can differ with each player and their preferences, but the best option for vitality would be to, after having put your points into dexterity, put every remaining attribute point into vitality. This should give you 2,000 or more health (without Battle Orders), while still leaving yourself with good damage.

Energy - No points into energy are required. While mana is a useful addition to any character, on a teleport-bowzon increased mana is not worth the loss of either damage or life that you would have to trade mana for.

Thank all of you for reading. I hope everyone enjoys it if they decide to try out this build. Please leave any input you may have in the comments (keep any insults or negative opinions to yourself, they are not wanted nor needed). If you need any help with anything regarding this guide feel free to send me a message, I will do my best to get back to you. Thanks to all :)

Okay... I see where you are trying to come from, BUT, I disagree entirely to your guide.

1. Rely on crap items that are not available on certain realms.
2. Rely on crap items that can not advance your build in either situation vs another of equal calibration
3. Skill levels like 20 int Avoid has NOT been checked by your calculation based on diminishing returns [this includes other Innate skills and levels]

Basically in the 3 above statements you have failed in your examples dramatically... you have not looked into the negative points in the skills and any
thing the alters your chance of surviving... please refrain from making a guide that was made in 2006 - 2008 by way of conjecture.

i dont think so

if you know how to run properly as bowzon you want need any teleport

so not worth it to sacrifice mass dmg to get an ability, you dont even need

but thats just my opinion :P

imo you should also mention bugbelt in your belt choice for the EUer

I didn't want to put in items that are only available on certain realms, which is why it was not included. but of course that is a good choice for a belt if you play on Europe :P

Plenty of reasons were listed.. If you prefer to have the same character as every other amazon on diablo that's your choice, this is just an option for a different and more fun character
