as it has "fires explosive arrows or bolts" - what rank will my explosive arrows be, if i have em specced to +20?

Not sure exactly but for sure it won't be lvl20

But i would advise to use the skills and not the "explosive arrows" from kuko

so it will use the skill if i have it active? that was the question - or if it still would do the "cast" from the weapon even tho i use another skill

If you use normal attacks, instead it will fire lvl 7 explosive arrows.
If you are a zon with pts in Fire Arrow, it will give synergy to this lvl 7 explosive arrows fire from normal attacks.

If you use anything else than normal attack, then it doesn’t apply, you instead fire whatever skill you are using. So if you use lvl 20 explosive arrow, then you override the base lvl 7.

It’s pretty much a useless mod for a zon.
But it’s useful on ravenclaw as people use it to lvlup with an enchantress greatly buffing the explosion dmg.

This is correct.

Another way to use the bow is on an Enchant Sorck with Fire Mastery etc... hence other builds use the Demon Xbow on an enchant sorc... it is old school, but has its' merits if build correctly.

Pierce + explotion.
Fire mastery
Can add on top: dream + light mastery.

The explotion ignore block as well.
Enchant will boost damage.

used it for leveling my amazon on solo self found. was pretty nice.
used the skilled explosive arrow when i had mana - and the normal attack "explosive arrow" when i needet to manaleech
was really strong till hell on p8

Magezon can be fun in pvm:
Freezing arrows
Immolation arrows
Spam freezing or explotion arrows between Immolation arrows.
Strafe or ga for leech.

Why Immolation + Freezing Arrow with the Cool-down period and the Exploding Arrows (normal attack speed) with weapon type?

Wouldn't it be better to use Glacial Spike vs Lightning / Fire / Poison immune, then use Immolation or Exploding Arrow (fire damage)?

Spam Freezing Arrow is a WASTE OF MANA depending on the Skill level? Explosion Arrows comes from a normal attack... woot, no mana loss, just single monster attack (even with 100% Pierce).

No Razor Tail belt? Why Arachs or Strings? Strings for Life Leech (steal), forget about the DR% because you are a Ranged attacker with 0 Pierce using Strafe OR GA with a Bowazon?

Have you looked up your gear selection on top of this?

I have not looked up the guide no.

I have heard about magezon before i tested it yes, and then i built my own version and played it for fun.

My idea was that the freezing arrows slow or freeze enemies in position while immolation burns them meanwhile. But if enemy is cold immune i would use explotion arrows instead, yet still have physical backup for leech and vs multiimmunes, or invbetweeners vs single immunes as well.

Ice does in my mind not make up for the loss of other crucial parts while trying to obtain max ias, and the use of a faith merc will lower dps drastic due to lack of infinity.

The question between strafe and ga as physical attack basicly depends on your ar. As ga ignores hitchance formula it will be a fine physical attack even though strafe has a higher teoretical dps.

Exploding piercing arrows with default attack is not worth it for this build either, and is more of an enchantress wepon. Either for aoe piercing exploding arrows, or for the fact that it ignores block in pvp, although harder to land compared to forexample widowmaker.

In my mind faith is the best wepon for such a hybird bowzon/magezon.

Razor is a fine belt yes, i will admit that.
