I want to make a Mage for pvp, but I'd also like to use it for solo magic find. Is it viable for solo magic find?

Yes, just a bit worse than choosing 1 or the other.
But hammer/foh is so strong you'll barely notice.

D2r and d2 don't have mage ... but sorceress. If talking softcore, then simply charged bolt, or fire bolt, and fire ball, then keep skilling fire ball and synergies, and then frozen orb when reaching end of normal+start of nightmare, will suffice.

arguably better than hammerdin for certain areas too, its good for solo mf

something like:

shako
hoto
spirit st 35 fcr
arach
2x soj/bk
magefist/trang
wt boots
2 pala 10 fcr amu (or even 3 combat 10 fcr one, cos foh benefits quite some from it, for hammer part 2 pala is better)
8 pc sks, cube in inv

skills something like:
20 foh
20 bolt
20 hammer
20 vigor
~6 or 7 into conc (forgot the exact number, something around this)
rest into blessed aim


imo needs high level to be effective though, would just play pure hammer and do chaos until 93 and then spec into mage and do TZ


mage is a very different spec for pvp though, you dont use bolt for pvp

How about +2 Pally or +3 Combat with 20FCR Circlet and Mara? You know my neighbors don't use da green 🤠
