So I don't know if you guys have been reading up on it, but there is currently a bit of drama surrounding a website called SomerBlink, where you basically buy a 60-GTC through a website, refer the sale to SomerBlink and get 200m "Blink Credits" that you can spend to buy 200m ISK. It's been going on for a couple of days now, and people have come out and started giving out large amounts of isk if you refer them instead (One person was giving a bonus 500m per 60-GTC bought with is referral.). Another person was giving "tickets" for a chance to get a Nyx if you listed him as referral, and another one is giving away his character using the same idea.

So the whole concept stems from buying a 60-GTC > Give the buyer a commission (2-5$) and you get rewarded either ISK or a fake currency. So effectively $$ > Fake Currency > ISK.

SomerBlink is actually endorsed by CCP, and SomerBlink allows you to sell your ISK for Blink Credits and vice versa (much like we would take ISK for FG and vice versa).

So why would d2jsp be illegal in that sense? The only difference between d2jsp and somerblink is that they ask you to pay 40$ to get an effective 2$ of isk out of it.

because ccp is dumb. FG is a non real currency. You should not get in trouble as per their eula if you trade here. However, they dont care to do the research and are more than retarded about the topic.

Their dislike of jsp is due to the fact that you can buy fg for real money and thus fg vs isk can be considered rmt.

But either way this site clearly states that FG holds no monetary value. I understand the work around for us users, but nonetheless if its a written rule that is agreed upon when you sign up for an account then it should be overlooked by ccp.

Kinda. You see you can PURCHASE fg with real money, but not vice versa which is what CCP is looking to catch. Buying ISK with real money via out of game GTC and PLEX, and other methods has long been accepted by CCP. Begin able to go the other way is what they have an issue with. A person taking ISK in game and making real life money off of it is a SERIOUS no-no. Which is impossible vs D2JSP. You can not take FG and turn it into real money. Which is against all D2JSP Forum rules and regulations.

the thing is, on the surface, forumgold has no real value except on the forum itself. whats stopping someone from spending 10k forumgold on isk, then selling said isk to a reseller or a website?

forumgold is just too lucrative of a currency thus why the hardline stance.

just my two cents.
