Your best bet is the noob help channel which everyone gets put in by default, this game is too big for someone to explain.

If you like PVP, join one of the newbie friendly corps such as RvB or Brave Newbies

They'll hook you up with some free ships and teach you how to blow shit up

There is also a group in Null Sec that are take new players called CAS Combat guild. Pretty much every once in a while they'll get in a big roam fleet and go destroy stuff. Great for new players who want to join right in. They stay apart of the NPC Corp Center of Advanced Studies. They do their recruiting there to come out to Null Sec.
