i'd love to offer tips/answer any questions, done just about every kind of pirating/pvp thing to do in eve besides faction warfare. high sec, low sec, null sec roam, null sec (huge scale on going battles)

i can answer broad questions if you have some, but im not currently subbed. hoping to fix that soon.

oh man.. that fit is wrong on so many levels (dont mean to be rude!)

but the thing with drakes is, is that they have very high resist. and combined with extender rigs and large shield extenders, you can get a very big buffer AND since your shields are so high, they will also recharge quickly!

poke around on battle clinic to get an idea of how other people like to fit their ship, then tailor it specificly to the situation you're going to be using it in

this is a great basic fit http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/62441-My-Low-Sec-Drake.html also you dont have to use Heavy assault missiles, heavy missiles are ok too

hope this helps :)

you need to get shield operation to 5, shield management to 5, battlecruisers to 5. Fit 1 Large shield extender 2, 1 Adaptive invulnerability field 2, warp disruptor 2, stasis web 2. Low slots you want the shield regen ones, and you want t2 heavy missiles. If you have tackle with you you should fit 2 large shield extenders and 2 adaptives. the cap is stable, and the tank is ridiculous.

you don't need t cloak on a drake. medium core defense rigs as well, and light scout drones(hobgoblins, warriors)

that is not a solo pirate fit, or a large scale fleet fit. i can tell you with certainty that you do not want to fit it exactly like this (though he was not only asking about how to fit a drake) for a few reasons #1 there're no ballistic controls (must have) #2 there's no MWD for burnning about to gate, and catching ANYthing. and you dont HAVE to have all those skills 5 just to successfully PvP

and you can fit a cloak if you like, it's usually personal preference. keep in mind it will take longer to lock onto something with it on, meaning small things are more likely to warp/move away before you can tackle them

Very true. If you go for solo pvp or almost any kind of pvp, you MUST have a mwd. Having one will save your life more than any other type of module you can possibly fit. Also right on the bcu point, without bcu your dps will be so terrible you won't be able to kill anything larger than a cruiser quickly enough. I would also not fit 2 invul fields since drakes are famous for having an EM hole, meaning any half seasoned pilot will always load up EM damage when fighting a drake. I would go with 1 invul and 1 em.

Edit: I also would not bother with a web, unless you're doing something specific like camping a gate. As a caldari ship range is not an issue so you want to stay out at close to maximum point range. Staying out at around 20km (where normal webs wont reach) will mean you take less damage from minmatar ships, which are very popular in pvp. It also somewhat helps you against drone boats since drones have to fly to you first. Even if you're fighting a frigate you most likely do not need a web, your drones will take care of it.

on paper what you said sounds ok, but in reality people wont want to let you just orbit at 20km which is the best way to take least damage and do damage

if you dont have a web and a scram, you WONT kill a frigate cause he will most likely warp/mwd away. along with other things that will get away if you dont have a web (like minmatar ships)
