Come on ppl, I know there is an abundance of isk atm and not that many people buying it, but I'm even having trouble selling at 1.2k fg/billion. This is extremely disturbing, the people trying to buy for 1:1 remind me of those market hawks that never leave jita, hoping someone messes up on their sell order and accepts it.

Here is just a little rundown of the isk as I see its value..

Buying from CCP - 1b isk = apx $35 USD

Buying from mogs or chinese farmers - 1b = apx $20 USD

Buying from me - 1b = 1,200 fg - 1,200 fg = apx $10 USD (this is converting to MTG:O 1$ tickets which average around 110-120 fg/ticket)

So offering plex and gametime as well as ingame money for ~1/3 of CCP's price, and ~1/2 the chinese farmer price, why is this not selling like hotcakes? Does no one play EVE anymore or something? =\

Thought, responses, and superior acting people trying to call me an idiot for something plz post below :D

I'm also wondering about the crash in the isk:fg ratio. I guess it's just TOO easy to make loads of isk.

Not everyone needs tons of isk anymore.

Personally i bought up a bunch and have just been rolling in profit now that i know what to do with it.

I remember the days when it was 3fg:1mil.

Also Im not going to explain how the system works. If you know it, you can play it to your advantage.
Keep what you know secret and you will profit.

prices go up and down. Comparing isk prices to the in game price for any other game is pointless. If you compare fg prices to isk prices it comes out to around $35 per billion at 1.1-1mil.... now thats a better ruler.

True dat.

I know the release of D3 probably made an impact with people wanting to cash out, but incursions have been nerfed.

Anyways, since I value ISK more than FG I don't really care about the prices ^^

well, with the "rebalancing" of mining ships you can expect a bunch of people to go broke in the next month or so at least. For some strange reason alot of people are going back to mining which makes zero sense to me. Prices for ore are dropping at the same time prices for hulks/macks/skiffs is going up. Add that to the fact that hulks have now been made FAR easier to gank.... Though it pains me to admit it, I personaly know several people that have allready lost multiple hulks. I guess it really does take all kinds 8(

In a market economy the price will always rise and fall due to demand. The price is low because demand is low and supply is MASSIVE. This leads me to believe there was a market bubble for a long time, with sellers cooperating to keep prices high(happens all the time). As a seller you don't get to decide what you are selling is worth. The buyer decides what it's worth, the sellers can either keep their supply or lower the price to what people are willing to pay.

In the end someone always caves, because waiting to buy or sell for days over a 200fg difference (provided there is demand) is foolish as you waste time which is more precious.

Time has a cost as well, don't try to start talking economics and then say that 'time is more precious', there is a reason there are wages. It is a cost at which we value time, if you are sitting on a commodity which is worth x, but supply is high, so long as the relative cost of your product is not going down longterm it does not mean that there was a market bubble so much as it could mean one of a thousand different things, including but not limited to, seasonal interest in EVE and so forth. Holding onto a currency until the market value is high is the essence of currency exchange investment worldwide.

There are two different kinds of people in EVE, those who earn isk and those who 'acquire' isk. Those who rip off a corp for 500b isk are bound to have a lower value of the currency than someone who put in the time to earn 500b. This is the wonder of EVE.

I appreciate the effort in the response but it is clear to me that you hold no real understanding of economics and should stick with speaking from the heart.
