when im searching for a mining ship, and im looking at the 'fitting' tab, which thing will tell me whether or not i can fit mining lasers and how many?

Mining lasers count as turrets, if no turret hardpoints, no lasers.
Now if u are talking about strip miners for mining barges and exhumers, the number of highslots determines how many of them u can fit.

personaly i wouldn't mine in anything but a mining barge or exhumer. The isk:time ratio is horrible in pretty much anything else. Also a heads up, if you aren't within 1k of the target asteroid mining drones are pretty crappy too.... they're just too slow miing and returning to add much.

I went

Osprey (caldari crusier) > retriever > hulk

then you get t2 strips t2 MLUs or cargo expanders and either jetcan mine or cargohold mine

wat the heck is jetcan mine? lol
