i read somewhere early last year that the two games where somehow suppose to effect each other
Yes. Basically this is how the game works... You are a mercenary that is hired by the corporations in Eve (paid to fight which I assume will help you upgrade your character somehow? Possibly with vanity items). The corporations also purchase things such as vehicles/command centers/etc for the battlefield on Dust. From what it seemed like with the actual gameplay the battleground of Dust will reflect whatever planetary infrastructure the defending corporation has set up on the planet. You will fight over sovereignty of a planet just as you do with sovereignty now in space.
My 2 cents... I think it is an absolutely wonderful idea and I have waited many years for a game to make this kind of bridge (although not exactly what I want because you won't really be able to interact between the two games much). The downside is I think they will fail at the execution of the idea. It seems to me like they had a great idea and in a desperate attempt to revive a dying company they're rushing a product out that is not nearly at it's potential and it will destroy the market for future games by CCP.
