so i had a petition in and finaly got a reply...

my question was regarding the commissioned officer edition and the buddy program. if i upgrade using that eddition does my buddy still get the 30 days time on his account? I searched the forums and got a ton of conflicting reports.

so yeah, it does work for the plex/30 days. I would just make sure to put in a petition first to get a reply like this so you have proof if you need to put in a petition to get the plex.

It specifically says otherwise in the EULA. But as long as you have proof a gm said this, you can do it.

Says nothing in the eula about the buddy program or the COE. It says no cd keys in the terms and conditions for the buddy program but it states in the official dev post for the COE that it is usable to upgrade buddy accounts. That's where all the confusion came from. The special edition "should" also work since it had an etc in it and not a cd key, but if you just buy a re-seller cd key, or the regular edition from ccp, those cd keys definitely won't work. The new boxxed set coming out next year (and the "possible" collector's edition) should also work.

Oh i just assumed the code in the Special Edition was a cd key.

the code in the commissioned officer edition is, but the one in the actual "special edition" box is an etc.
