So I just finished skilling and acquired a Hulk....

Ehh mining blows, but AFK mining isn't bad when you're watching a movie... but now I'm looking for a mission runner.

I'm looking to go as high as I can solo with just Gallente vessels.

From the research I've done, it seems like I should be going for a Kronos with heavy drones + Hybrid weaponry... I could go for a sniper platform or Particle Beam weapons (I think that's what they are)...

Anyone who knows what they're really doing... (Botted, brainpower, any of the heavy hitters) got any advice? Am I going in the right direction?

Isk and time for skills are no object.

And please.... for the LOVE OF GOD... keep any bickering and he said she said crap out of my thread. Thanks.

The most popular fastest lv4 mission runners are vargurs and Machariels, Machs are much easier to get into then vargers, but have less of a tank and about the same damage. The real key with large autocannons is the falloff bonus that the vargur and mach get, you can hit out at 60-70km, with good tracking.

If your adamant about sticking to Gallente however, i would just go with a Dominix for now, since only decent drones is required, and only around 1mil sp in droneswill give you decent dps, where as to get decent dps from railguns in gunnery takes a lot of skills. Also a vindicator is the pirate faction bs got Gallente, much easier to get into then a Kronos. I say this because for a pure kronos pilot with good core skills your looking at 7-10months. A well skilled dominix pilot is only a couple.

I don't agree, T2 heavies & sentries take a lot of time (drone interfacing 5 + heavy drone operation 5 + sentry drone interfacing 5= 3.84M already), without these your dps is awful, and you also have support skills and drones specializations to train.
The domi is a very popular ship for lvl 4 but definetly not the fastest. If you got the isks go for a mach. If you also have the patience go for a vargur or tengu.

Tengu is the best isk making ship if you got the ISK. Pimp the tank a bit, a good deadspace small shield booster will be enough with the shield boost subsystem and 2 shield boost amps, enough to tank any level 4 mission. That coupled with t2 heavy missiles and t2 missiles (precision for frigs and fury for everything else), and rigor rigs will be the best setup. Why rigor rigs? You do more damage to smaller ships, and missions have more small ships than big, you want to do max damage to cruisers and BC's, that is the key. You need the small shield booster to be able to fit rigor rigs, otherwise your CPU will not be enough. Spend 1.5bil isk and you're golden :)

Something like this:

6x HML t2
1x CN Photon scat
1x Invul t2
2x Shield boost amp t2 (no skills? buy caldari navy ones)
1x Pitbi B-type shield booster (gistii a-type if you have crappy capacitor skills, you need to be cap stable)
1x Republic Fleet 10mn AB (that should be the faster version)
4x CN BCU
2x Rigor rig t2 (target signature radius)
1x Flare rig t2 (target velocity speed)
Subs:
Amp node
Diss sequencer
Fuel cata
Accel Ejec bay
Augmented cap reservoir

This fit is tested and proved many times over, I used it for over 1.5 years.

I had no problems running lvl 4's in Domi with my ~4mil SP char who had Heavy Drones/Sentry/Interfacing lvl 4, Gunnery skills lvl 4 with T2 Med/Light Drones, T2 Hardeners and meta4 Large Rails/Repairers.
Sure you don't run them "fast" and need to know/read tactics about which group to aggro, but it sure as hell beats running lvl 3's with Myrmidon (although there is few missions which you can't finish because of too low DPS)...

...but in the long run T2 Heavy/Sentry and Drone Interfacing lvl 5 is important, I PVP'd every now and then so I didn't run them so much in a row, only about 450K LP, besides you'll be training T2 Heavy/Sentry Drones anyway at some point if you're Gallente and want to use Domi/Ishtar efficiently.

For basic enough skills to run them smoothly and get through them in a timely manner, better then railguns imo lol.

Tengu is nowhere near the same dps as a mach.

sure better than railguns but still too slow imo.

I've never said the tengu had the same dps then a mach, but in terms of PVE a tengu can do a lot more things than a BS/Maurauder

True and you still make more money/LP in them versus lvl 3, at least if you got specific 10% more LP skill trained to lvl 4.
