Any advice on a good fit to learn a Tengu? I would like to start in missions to get familiar with the ship/tank/arsenal and grow into solo wh's from there

Perma run deadspace med boosters are popular, since you can easily perma run and sig tank a lv4.

What do you think about these

I have found this as a solo wh fit for later - http://eve.battleclinic.no-ip.info/loadout/51489-Tengu-WH-solo-c3-anom-radar-mag.html
and this possibly as a fit for now http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/38353-Tengu-Level-4-Mission-runner.html

no probe launcher for "shit happens" situations = failfit from the start ... those subs are bad for wh living , rigs are bad , large sb is bad on a tengu specially in wh , can`t think of a reason to + that fit considering the intented purpose ...

meh , you`re a noob .

i said that because i thought he wants to live in a wh . Would you go in a wh without a probe launcher on you , and risk to get neuted to death ? because the only downside of tengu is that he gets killed pretty fast even with a single heavy neut pointed at it . The first so called "wh fit" had a huge EM hole compared with other resists , in a wormhole sleepers will deal the lowest resist damage .

The "starting in lvl 4" part , even failfits work like a charm , Tengu is quite a badass lvl 4 mission ship .

what i would call a "perfect lvl 4 mission fit"

6 HML II

2 mission specific hardeners (or invulnerability field II if you want to go for omnitank)
1 medium shield booster
t2 SBA
10mn afterburner
1 target painter / EM hardener if you want omnitank or you mission in amarr space

4 x CN BCS

rigs : 2 x t2 rigors , 1 x t2 flare .

subs : the ones from second fit you linked .

Cap stable , huge tank , doesn`t even need any faction modules except CN BCS for extra damage , and it works good enaugh even with t2 .

Using gist large sb has two downsides : you`re VERY cap dependant , and you need to use t2 ccc rigs and have good cap and fitting skills , cause with t1 ccc you`re not stable . You lose ~40% damage vs frigates / elite cruisers .

Can you teach me more master ?

Totally overkill tank? Also this is not a drake, fit some expensive stuff. ( named ab, named shield booster, named guns etc. )
You can remove 1 tank module for a target painter, mayby 2 modules if you got 3bcs and 1xdc

Torpedoes>all other missiles.

They are simply badass.

Other than that, i have some knowledge of PvE.
I have no idea to to successfully use a tengu.
But isnt the only bonus from a tengu over a drake is the slight increase in dps?

Better tank, better mobility, better dps and more expensive :)
I would use faction raven for level 4's, atleast 3x faster.

hmm ? what overkill tank ... you were trying to imply gist large sb was better , now THAT would be overkill tank .

And you said to fit expensive stuff , named ab , named sb , etc (i suppose you were talking about faction stuff , because usually named means t1 meta) ... if that is already overtank , why would i fit faction tank modules ?

CNR isn`t 3 times faster ... it`s not even 1.5 x times faster , and i double dare you to use a torp raven vs drone missions / frigates ... you`re a silly noob :)
