Just started playing eve last night and am really lovin it! any tips for a newcomer to the game?

the golden rule would be "Never fly what you can't afford to lose"

dont fly to 0.4-0.0 low sectors !!!

dont take yellow wreks or containers !!!

dont atack other players unless they started first , but then concord will kill them anyway .

cybernetics lvl 5 ( then u can put expensive implants 5+ ) worth 120+ million isk


good luck ...

put yourself into your racial Battlecruiser / BS , then train only fitting / core / tank skills to lvl 4 or 5
don`t crosstrain early
it`s way better to be able to fly few ships at maximum potential than start training more ships without being able to fly at their potential / afford to buy
don`t go to low-sec unless you`re ready to lose your ship
read the forums , and don`t be afraid to ask what you don`t know . ON FORUMS , not in local , because you prolly won`t get any help there
buy basic implants that require lvl 3 cybernetics , you don`t need and you can`t afford at start higher ones

then go in whatever direction you want , pvp / carebearing / mining ... and make sure you have a training plan for at least 3 months in advance .

I would say to train to BS and large guns for your race , then remap to intelligence / memory and train core / tank skills to lvl 5 , then remap again to perception / willpower and do your ship / gunnery / missile training .

for pvp yes but for pvm once you get the hang of tanking/ganking missions and use that mission guide this rule is pretty much null
