Well, I just got done skimming through the first two pages and it seems like all I can find are people trying to figure out how to start out. So I'm going to try and help out and post a couple guides that helped me out a lot, and quite frankly still use from time to time cause I for sure can't remember everything.

First off for skill training, I highly recommend training all learning skills to lvl3, then train cybernetics skill to lvl3, try and get some isk and buy the +3 basic implants for implant slots 1-5. This will make the rest of your training a bit faster, then as you get certain skills to where you want them to be, finish up your learning skills to lvl4 and then to lvl5 as soon as it is convenient. I've got +4 implants(which requires cybernetics to be at lvl4) and all learning skills to lvl5, and training skills doesn't take so long.

*The following guides are all about exploration and wormholes.

http://www.eve-guides.com/exploration/index.php

http://fiercewebs.com/arcdragon/joomla/index.php/the-guide

http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=642

http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Wormhole_environment_effects - This is gone over in the second link, but sometimes redundancy is good.

*These sites are for some possible ship fittings if you can't figure one out for yourself or don't really know how to fit a ship.

http://eve.battleclinic.com/browse_loadouts.php

http://www.scrapheap-challenge.com/

*Sites for missions

http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=MissionReports

The above site has everything you need to know about missions that you run, recommended resists u should fit, damage type you should deal, ships that should be flown. Has info on wormhole sites. Agent locator if you want to fly missions from a certain person (even though you can do that in game as well). A lot of info on that site

*For miners (bleh)

http://www.evegeek.com/ore_info.php

Tells you where to find different ores, what they break down to, etc. (shit I don't do, I pew pew)

*Maps

http://evemaps.dotlan.net/

Has flat maps of regions connecting to each other, great for planning routes and alternate routes for ops or moving stuff.

http://go-dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/Verite/influence.png

constantly updated map on who gains/losses sovereignty. Shows who owns what space.

*Misc

http://www.hostile.dk/files/eve/eve-tracking101.swf

everything you wanted to know about tracking, watched it, didn't really pay attention. lulz

http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Plexes

discusses majority of information about what people call complexes (plexing). There are two types, rated (DED plexes) and non-rated (hidden)

If you have any questions, comments, concerns feel free to post here or PM me. Would prefer to post here so in case your question is someone else's question I can knock out two birds with one stone.
If you have any guides to submit, I will edit post and add it.

Request sticky from mod, but hey, you don't have to if you really don't, but this can answer a lot of questions. <3

you'll find out common knowledge on eve isn't so common.. if you pvp that is.
the best way to learn is sink or float. find some grimey mofos and see if they'll let u go fly with them. bring a shitty ship and show em ure not totally gutless and learn to pvp early. i know a lot of good pvpers who will take newbies in if they got that going. also don't get sucked into the "i just need lvl 2's to get that ship and im good, oh now i need 3's, now 4's". lvl 4's or mining will bore you out of the game.

vouch this, learn to pvp early, find a group to fly with and fly cheap ships fit them better as you go once you get into battle ships get a friend and try to do some plexs, 6/10s are super easy and some of the modules you get are still worth a lot also its about 40 min worth of work and the minimum you will get is 51m ish + bounties
