I don't play EVE a ton anymore, but I had been considering getting back into it after the Dominion patch was released. After looking through the latest dev blog, however, I am pretty sure this will be the worst expansion for a 0.0 player since I started the game ~four years ago.

Anyone else in a similar boat? This seems like it might be a very disappointing patch.

How so? I mean unless you keep deathstars on every moon in your station systems, your costs are going to go up and the boost from upgrades is minimal. Not only that, but R64s are getting nerfed, as far as I can tell.

I'm really interested in what you're looking forward to, honestly. I wouldn't mind starting up again if the game would actually be fun.

yeah its great for small alliances but it promotes balanced game play. The days will end when we had big names in 0.0

ya now i see the biggest fights will be over the prime 0.0 while the lesser wanted space will be easy pickins

now that i think of it i wouldent be suprised if it was the old bob deves doing this to get rid of all the big power players so bob can rebuild lol

Eve is getting better and better,... the longer u play the better it gets..
It gets better everyday, in every new patch.. always improvements, new things, new stuff to do, different ways to achieve ur aims, etc etc...

u should never stop playing, cause it gets better every new patch.. its always changing into better and more.

Stop researching obsolete bpos and start reading more into the new stuff that eve has to offer ... and/or dedicate yourself to different areas rather than sit yo ass in a station all the day long..

Have you looked into the costs of owning space now though? I love the idea of this now patch, but the implementation is terrible. Even a moderately controlled system will require a corporate-level (not alliance level!) upkeep of 1.5bn/month, with an upper value of around 2.2bn. I don't know if any of you have tried running a small alliance in 0.0 before, but that's insane.

iNuke, EVE was great for the first two and a half years, but every game gets lame with time. I really miss when I was in a small corporation in 0.0. I want that back. My point is that the implementation of this patch is going to do the exact opposite of that.

edit: Well it looks like in a post on the forums a Dev said that they reduced the cost of holding a system substantially. Hopefully they also fix how minuscule the increased drop rate was supposed to be. If they do that, I'll think about playing again.

another thing you can do is, sell ur toon/toons for isks and start a new one ;) .. maybe a different path? a different personality? a different way of relationship with ppl around? .. its all ideas.. I actually did that myself with one of my toons and its a great experience.. to start it all over when u know a lot more now, u feel more comfortable with many things and feel it differently.. that gives u freedom to go and explore different ways of playing eve..
