So I've not heard much about this game, but got a 5am (late night) urge to play it. I've watched some gameplay videos and read a little about it, seems interesting.

Anyway, I'm wondering some stuff. Is your character always bound to the ship? Is there any kind of "leveling" in the game? Leveling proffessions, leveling yourself, etc etc. What are the primary attractions to the game? What do you do in the game exactely? How does it compare to a game like WoW (strictlly enjoyment factor only - not complexity or anything else)?

At this time in the night, now morning, waiting for a multi-hour install is unbearable so I hope y'all can offer me some preliminary information!

You need to train your own skills, but you'll find out how when you start the game, just do the tutorial and your fine ;)

What are the primary attractions to the game?
No kids like 90% of the wow players, avarage age is about 30 I think.

What do you do in the game exactely?
The ultimate goal is to conquer all the solar systems in 0.0 space, these are alliance owned systems.
You train your character so it can fly new ships, use new weapons, use new propulsion etc.

It doesn't.

Eve Online has the steepest learning curve of any game. The interface is one of a kind and confusing at first.

Characters are only bound to their pods which can be fitted into any ship (as long as you have the proper skill level)

Skills start at 1 and go to 5 maximum and train in real time.

this is quite true WoW is rather boring in my opinion and gameplay just isnt interesting where as Eve-Online has many different styles of playing the game.
as such u can be a Industrialist, a Market Tycoon, a Mission Roleplayer, a Corporation/Alliance Head, or just a all out combat character for pvp. All of which have their place in the game

it also has a much more realistic economy compared with, say, WoW.
