I started a pvp/mission running alt about a month ago - currently training minmatar battlecruiser got some gunnery, nav and missile skills right now planning on outfitting a hurricane with heavy missiles and beam weapons but i am totally noob and dont know what im doing. any suggestions? im not very invested into any skill line so can change. my objective is to have a decent mission runner and then be able to pvp ultimately making this my battleship (capital someday?) char hoping to do some RvR corp warfare shit. however, in other games because i play weird hours ive been into solo pvp...so far in eve it seems solo pvp is hard to find/do...anyone have advice on solo pvp? does it exist? if so any ship/build/setup thats recomended? my main char my mining/industrial char is coming along and i think i can afford to pvp just a lil now..

thanks!!

PVE (rats/missions) you want Caldari for Ravens or CNR's

For PVP I think Minmatar is still the king.

Surely you jest? Ravens and Navy Ravens are the staple for PVE, ask anyone.

Kass, he was talking about Minmatar ships in general. Come on, you've been playing since 2004 and you still don't get Minmatar jokes? biggrin.gif

for the cane, best setup i've pvp'd with is:

x6 425mm prototype (second best named) - faction EMP/PP
x2 standard missile launcher II - faction bloodclaw or flameburst

x1 invul field
x1 point
x1 mwd
x1 EWAR of choice (i usually go with target painters)

x1 MAR II
x1 1600mm rolled tungtsen
x1 DCU II
x3 gyrostab II

x3 vespa ec-600 (ecm drones) or valkyrie for dmg

The above setup is going with my skills, so it might not fit so perfectly for you first try. at least you'll want engineering 5, electronic 5, weapon upgrade 5, and advanced weapon upgrade 3 or 4.

i dont pve with the cane, but you can try this:

x6 650mm (rat type based ammo of choice)
x1 tractor beam
x1 salvager

x1 ab II
x3 cap recharger

x2 MAR II
x1 eanm (energized apdative nano membrane)
x1 dcu
x2 rat-spec resist active hardeners

I've never tried the above setup, so i have absolutely no idea if it'd fit.

cane is a formidable ship to fight against if fitted right. if you take a look at the bonus, it gives dual bonuses to medium projectile, 5% dmg and rof per bc lvl. because of this, always stack as many projectile guns on a cane as possible to take full advantage of these bonuses.

as for solo PvP, it exists alright, but as of right now, i'm sry to say that it's well beyond your reach. you'll soon learn that to really PvP decently on your own, at least in lowsec, you'll want at least a BS that is fitted properly and have at least one extra ship in case it goes boom.

find a corp, i recommend Eve University, they'll help train ya into a decent pvper.
