There are a whole range of types of people. If you go to Jita, can can expect to find the very worst of people, if you go to the depths of lawless space and some backwater system you can expect to find the very best of people.
If you go to CAOD you can expect to find the most moronic repetitive poasting of the same 5 insults in 95% of threads. If you go to the other forums you can expect to find help with whatever problems you may be facing.
Its a lot of fun to play a real sandbox mmo where almost everything ingame is created by the players using a small set of tools given by the devs.

When I started the tutorials were pathetic and it had the steepest learning curve of anything I had ever played. Becoming a member of some corporation or other was pretty important so you could bamboozle everyone with 1000 questions a day, now people tell me the tutorials are better and the new player experience less masochistic :D

Eve has a 100% community based market. Nothing on the market got their by NPCs anymore.  It's player driver, player controlled.  It's market is truly supply and demand based.  You have the ability to make your own professions.  Anything goes, as long as it's profitable.

Almost 100%, not quite, skill books, bpos and a few other things are on market from the game itself.
