most of my old escapades involved very temporary ownership and an almost nomad-like outlook on 0.0 in small-medium sized corps
there were rewards involved due to the planets and mineral fields
there is nothing worth even fighting over in lowsec, and nothing to win even if you fight over it. its just fighting for the sake of fighting.....nothing like nullsec....
There are a lot of very valuable moons worth mining in low sec, such as tech moons. They are usually owned by a big player though.
I guess you'll have to take eve as it is, you can forget your old 0.0 ways because that will not be possible. This is why I suggested low sec, which is where you will find the small gang pvp these days. You cannot have both.
