Its ok, i dont care about the isk, just make sure not to join eve uni mkay? :)
Its nothing personal, but eve university are a cancer. Their attitude towards pvp is bad for new players and they dont teach you proper pvp either. You will get told to fly a ship hated by the community and you will be blamed, warned and eventually kicked for losses you do on your own. The motto is to not lose ships, even if that means that you never do pvp.

And what ship would that be?

If your going to join anything, i "guess" i would choose RvB.They at least teach you some kind of pvp.
Although being complete shit, they are newbie friendly.

Otherwise maybe look into joining TEST alliance, we are more than welcoming to newbies. We have great programs where we give away ships for free to anyone who needs one. That way you are always in the action. Also there is no need to worry about the losses, TEST doesnt care.
There is no CTA's, we do not force you to do a single thing. If you want to rat, fine. If you want to pvp, fine. If you want to join test and just helicopter dick everyone, fine.

It is great fun.

If you have a reddit account 3> months old then i suggest trying to join the corp "dreddit." Otherwise look at some of TEST's other corps and try and get in.
Just watch out for scams, people like to take advantage of new recruits. We have no fee to join, so don't pay one if asked. Just tell them its a scam and quote the alliance info message.

Alright, I'm just starting out playing eve so I was just curious. Why is the blackbird hated by the community?

its not.

But you can learn to hate any ship if that is what your forced to fly it.

Brobirds are loved by the TEST community.

Its a very strong ship that requires very little skillpoints, but you wouldnt call it imbalanced. Its just the mechanics are so very lame if you have to fight against it that you will really come to hate them. RvB has a ban on all similar ships (griffin, blackbird, rook, falcon etc) for internal skirmishes. If you look hard enough you will find enough posts on the forums too.
Sure you might find it appealing to have such a great force multiplier right from the bat when you start, but it doesnt teach you anything about PvP either. Its like playing an ubertrist leveled hammerdin after you bought your duped enigma and shit.

Well, as me and my friends just started we're more than likely to include a ecm hull when we start small gang pvp.

If your doing small gang pvp a falcon/rook is a tide turner for sure.

Yes people will complain if you have them perma jammed during a gank/fight. But 99% of the time, if you don't have the ecm the enemy will.

And like I said, RvB is shit.
Their pvp is terrible. If you want REAL pvp, join a small gang corp or even a huge null alliance.

RvB is awesome... if you want to fight scripted battles. If you're interested in PvP let me know. My alliance has a nice large sov in null, we don't bitch at newbro's for not bringing 100mil ships to fleet battle, and there is plenty of fights/isk to be made. We just defended an important station timer a few days ago with a 1400 man fleet. Of that 1400 there was at least 100 low sp pilots flying t1 frigates. You can always fit a ship for tackle, and even if (read "when") you get popped you still have a blast doing it. The upside is that t1 frigs tend to get killed by bomb runs or some rando' not folling fc's orders. There are always several low skillers that survivethe 1000+ ship battles. Plus you can tag along with someone ratting, salvage and loot, and make more in an hour than you are likely to earn in highsec in the next week 8)

Edit: you can fly whatever you like, but theres always fleet concept t1 frigs on contract for like 1-3 million each, which you can make in literally 5 minutes of rat salvaging.
