Just took the bait on something really stupid tonight. I guess I kind of wanted to see what would have happened. Some guy named LINDDIESEL had asked if I wanted extra ore from a mission he was doing. I had a feeeling it was a trapped so I go over to loot his can. It told me that he would then be able to attack me. I decided to give it a try. I should have used one of my shitty ships and unequiped everything first, but I didn't. I ended up losing about 3 mil equipment, loot and my ship. I know it's not a lot to most people here, but I don't even have 3 mil to rebuy everything. I don't want to quit, but if there really are more douches like this person who will purposely hang out in a newbie area where they are doing their newbie missions and try to lure them to attack them, that's just fucking sick. At least if you're going to grief players, do it to those who have some sort of fighting chance. Not preying on the already dwindling population of new players that want to learn the game and putting them back further than they already are. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Maybe I just need to take a day or so away from the game and come back to it. Most players I have encountered in the game so far have been nice, but it's just kind of sick that people who pick on new players. It's like a level 85 player in WoW going to the newbie zone and 1 shotting newbies. Always made me sick when I saw shit like that.

Sorry for your loss :( but do as brainpower said.
Like I told you via pm, most players are nice and will help you out in game. But there are players who will do what happened to you. Its a part of a the game. It makes it unqiue. Just watch out for scams now. Those are a pain if you take a big enough hit ^_^

my IGN is: wigglez rubmetumi

I appreciate the help brain. It just frustrated the hell out of me. I really didn't think someone would hang out in the newbie mining belt area (it's where you're still doing your tutorial agent missions) and try to bait newbies into taking ore from a can and then killing them. It's not like I have an expensive ship with equipment for them to loot off me.

If they are doing that in the 1.0 security noob system, you can report them to ccp and they will be warned/banned. It is against the rules to do any type of griefing in a noob 1.0 sec status system.

For whatever reason it's a 0.7 area. But it's where you get dirrected to those 5 agents that teach you about combat, adv combat, mining, and that type of stuff. It's where the station is located. I know with Amarr it's a 0.8 area.

well , they are doing it "for the tears" , and hopefully you didn`t tried to contact them and rage / put your heart on a table and asked this innocent question "why ? why did you did this to me ?"

that would make them happy ... i sent you some isk to replace your ship , make sure you stay at cruiser / battlecruiser level until you can fit a t2 tank , else you`ll lose a lot of ships ...

I have notticed you tried to mine in a cormorant ... that`s quite a failure to be honest . I would suggest to never start mining . NEVER ! Unless you have 10 hulk characters boosted by Orca / Rorqual mining in nullsec , you will never make more isk than missioning l4 or plexing / whatever ... grind lvl 1 / lvl 2 missions in cormorant / Caracal , train support and fitting skills (engineering , electronics , missile support skills lvl 4) then when you will sit in a Drake , you`ll be ready for lvl 3 missions and pvp .
