It's a very fun and time-consuming game. Keep in mind the skills you train take real time to train so it's also a very long term game.I've been playing for a few years and still can't fly any of the REALLY big ships yet (I've got medium size ships right now). But like I said it's very fun and very time-consuming. You can really do anything you want in it. Like Blaspherion said, start with the 14 day free trial first and do the in-game tutorial it actually helps out for new players. Read up on the game a little more on the classes, jobs, and things you can do in Eve. Hope you enjoy it, you can always throw me a friend request if you decide to stay i'll  help out as much as I can. (Swatski9)

Not sure what you mean when you say REALLY big ships - but a few years of training and you should be able to fly whatever you want to - think you've strayed a bit from your training que :)

Frigs, destroyers, cruisers and battlecruisers are easy obtainable - 2-3 months of training and your ready to board your first battle ship - then comes all the specialicing skills etc - all your core skills aso.
Its easy enough to get the basic skills, especially now, when you dont have to worrie about learning skills and you get the bonus to skill training for new players.

Dont let the real time training scare you, even a low sp toon can beat a 100+ mil toon - so your not left behind in any way.
The fun starts immediatly - and real time training means that you also train when your not online, 24/7 - the game aint more time consuming, than you make it.

Looking over my previous post, i sound like some kind of recruiter for CCP

Or do like me and train the alts on the 2 acc's to pi and research skills - place em in a wh and enjoy the isk's - get between 1-2 bil from pi alone a month, then the research / reactions are added - while i can do whatever i want with my mains.

Haha, I wasn't looking to just sit in the ships in fly them, i was actually interested in fitting them very well and actually using them to their full potential with a full skill tree for said ship. And i'm talking titans, of course I can't fly titans ;)

Allright, just to let ppl know it aint that hard, of course it takes time, but then again, would'nt be fun if you where done with all skills within the first year :)
There's always something to train or improve.

Flying titans usually works trough a dedicated pilot who's only purpose is being a titan pilot - quite regular that the corps pay their titan pilots plexes while undergoing training - that being said - 200-250 days of dedicated training and your fully able to fly and equip a titan with doomsday and everything.
Say a year and all your core skills, nav skills aso is in place too. - that aint hard considering what your able to fly then :)
Then you just have to buy one and pay for the equipment :P

I know what you mean, and i know its very rare that ppl train dedicated for 1 thing only, thats probably why you cant fly em yet - hence the dedicated pilots in larger corps.

Are you in a known alliance?

I'll reply w/ the same answer here as in the other threads

People do get pretty serious about certain aspects of the game. But at the same time, you'll find many people that are laid back as hell.

I've been playing Eve for almost 2 years now. the learning curve is HUGE (go Google "Eve Learning Curve" and you'll get an accurate picture of what I mean.)

It's a PVP based game, and you can literally die at any time. Some places are more secure then others, but not off limits to a griefer.

Instead of 'leveling up' like you do in most MMO's, the training que in eve runs 24/7. That being said, some skills can literally take a month to get. Right now I'm on an 18day skill training. This isn't a game you can play for a month and move on. But it's extremely in-depth and your career choices aren't limited to any one race/profession.

The main drive in Eve is getting wealthy. More ISK = more ships you can buy = more PEW PEW = more fun. But if you're the passive type, you can spend your time mining ore, refining it, and producing the ships and selling them to the PVP'rs. Eve has a 100% community based market. Nothing on the market got their by NPCs anymore. It's player driver, player controlled. It's market is truly supply and demand based. You have the ability to make your own professions. Anything goes, as long as it's profitable.

Throw all that together, and you get the kind of people that you meet in RL. You'll meet people that want nothing more then to kill you just for the LOLz. You'll meet corporations that want to recruit you, tax the hell out of you and get rich of your hard work. Remember, that semi-retarded guy yelling at you in local chat is not retarded, nor is he forgiving when he finds you.

If you can wade threw the long training que, the griefers, the learning curve, and the occasional WTF PWN...you'll find a very good, exciting, active, and easy to engage community. I've made some good friends on Eve, and some deadly enemies. I'm not gonna lie, there are a few people that (when we meet) we do battle without provocation.

One of the biggest things that sets eve part, is the community is directly involved in the games direction. The Developers will make changes, add new content, and adjust the game for the majority rule of the players. They are constantly sending out new updates, new content, new missions, new stuff to do. I'm not gonna lie, some aspect of the game are a little 'broken'...for example, the bounty system. Right now, you can put a bounty on someones head. The amount of the bounty will get claimed by the person who kills the guy w/ the bounty. However, this has lead to an exploit of peoples 'friends' killing them for their bounty and splitting the money. The Devs say they're working on it...it's not a huge issue, but there are a few small things like that in the game that can be annoying. But, like I said, not a game ender. This is a New type of MMO...the players have more influence over what happens then the Devs...I love it, it's a great game.

To sum up, eve is what you make it.
