what race u like ?

if u wanna do pve ( missions againts npc , pirates then i think good race is Caldari

if u wanna pvp , perhaps minmatar + amar

I suggest you to choose Caldari, skill the Drake then you can do almost everything =)

if u wanna join 0.0 you can skill chimera as capital and apocalypse as support.
if u wanna run missions (level 4/5) you can skill better your Drake or skill the Nighthawk

just pick the sexiest race. cross training is np.
read about them, see which one you like the most.

but if you do want your character to fly only his racial ship, then most of the time its minmatar for pvp, caldari for pve

minmatar for sub bs
