Then guess what you could do in eve for that money, i pay for 3 accounts each month.

lol 3 accounts, thats 45euros each month
thats 540 euros each year,

with that money i could buy me
decent amount of p*t
could tank many times to drive my bike (suzuki sv650s)
buy me some movies.

and what if u can't play for a week, work,vacation...
if u don't play u waste playtime = money

guess i have to wait for diablo 3
and star wars : the old republic,
don't know yet but guess it's gonna be one time pay, and play free.

these days there isn't a decent free mmo that keeps interesting.

Nice thing about eve is a reasonably developed account will pay for itself in passive income if you buy gtc's with isk (completely legal). Stuff like bpo research, datacore farming, even pos reactions, takes very little time to maintain once the capital is invested and the process set up.

do you have any clue how a business works? or do you think money just appears so that game companies can run their servers pay their employees and develop new content for free...at least you can pay for subscriptions with in game money...which i know of no other game that has that

I guarantee kotor will be a pay to play too and if it isnt I wont be playing because it will suck because mmorpgs that make their game for no monthly fees while very nice just doesnt provide enough money to support a game without making the game take hits in certain areas (guild wars and their entire instanced world)

Using the "I could be using my money for something else" is a stupid argument because either way you are spending it on entertainment because eventually you will have to pay for the next month or the game will eventually shut down or lets take ur bike and movie example...ur bike will eventually break down and u will need to fix it not to mention upkeep and gas like you mentioned...movies is a bad example because you get more entertainment from a game than a movie. You are paying for different forms of entertainment

But money is no problem for me...especially this coming spring cause I already got a job lined up where ill make the subscription cost for 1 account in 1 hour of work lol

Anyway...the game is fun for a while I have/had two accounts 1 miner/industrial with a hulk and the other is my pve/pvp with a good hauler alt char too so i mined about 2 asteroid belts a day but I kept trying to get into a decent corp but whenever they attempt to go to 0.0 and join an alliance members make stupid mistakes...get killed and either quit the corp or just plain disappear from the game alltogether. Im sure ill come back once I build my new computer and can run premium graphics and hopefully they will have ambulation up and running

it's just, if i don't feel like playing, or i can't play for a week,
i'm paying for nothing.

Except the gruelingly slow pace of the game and "spend 60% of time making isk, 39% of time traveling from point a to point b to make isk, and 1% of time having fun before dying and losing your stuff" gameplay essentially makes EVE a second job that you have to pay to work at. Since the skill system is bananas and what you can do and how good your character is comes directly from how long you have paid for the game, the only motivating factor of playing at all is to make ISK with the somewhat cloudy prospect that at some point in the future you may or may not be able to use that ISK to have a minute or two of genuine "fun".

Even in KOTOR or any decent MMO that is pay to play, at least the developers give you something to do other than chase the virtual carrot aimlessly and wave your invisible space dick around.

Like with all things it depends on how much time you are willing to sacrifice, the game is a lot more fun if you really get into it, i can't see why casual gamers
would want to play EVE, but then again it's still a lot more fun than LS, try the free trial and find someone ingame to keep you company, EVE is a social experience, not
a singles game smile.gif

ps: i don't play atm... time =]

and what game is that? WOW where they implement constant timesinks and you pay for each expansion that makes every item you worked to get for the previous 2 years worthless(thats a BIG kick in the balls lol)? How EXACTLY is that different? I wont disagree the game is slow getting to the hulk was painful and VERY boring but mining in general is unless ur in an op...at least I can train for a 2 month long skill right before my subscription expires and play another game...come back and the game will be fun again. every game has tons of people that will be better than you because they have played longer or just plain better than you at your class or whatever.

pretty much everyone I talked to said it takes like 2-3 months to even think about doing anything consistently which to be honest...if you are casual is just like in any game

If you knew how to play the market making money is VERY simple and you dont even have to move any goods but it takes some thought and luck to pull it of which alot of people dont have...if i had a job like that I would be really really happy

If you know how to use the market and pricing or enjoy being a pirate and stealing peoples goods(a real pirate none of that can flipping crap in highsec lol) then the game really isnt that bad but it takes some time to get into
