What would my ultimate goal be? Golem? Tengu? I'm currently almost trained up to using a Raven and just wanting to know what the next logical step would be, or should I just get a CNR and call it a day?

Tengu, but only if you're smart enough to fit it right.

There's no really good tengu lvl4 mission fit on battleclinic.

You want something like this:

6x HML t2
1x Caldari Navy Photon scat
1x Invul t2
2x Shield boost amp t2 (no skills? buy caldari navy ones)
1x Pitbi B-type small shield booster (gistii a-type if you have crappy capacitor skills, you need to be cap stable)
1x Republic Fleet 10mn AB (that should be the faster version)
4x CN BCU
2x Rigor rig t2 (target signature radius)
1x Flare rig t2 (target velocity speed)
Subs:
Amp node
Diss sequencer
Fuel cata
Accel Ejec bay
Augmented cap reservoir

Remember that you only need the skills to fit t2 rigs, not use. You can pay someone to fit it for you, or ask a friend. I used this fit for about 1.5 years and it tanked any and all level 4 mission.

The key is speed tanking, in a tengu you do not sit still. Orbit something, anything, and you're golden. Small signature radius of active tanked tengu + 600+ m/s gives you an uber tank. Remember, small shield booster is all you need, if you use a bigger one you cant use rigor and flare rigs since that fucks up your cpu, and you want those rigs to do more damage to smaller targets. Stupid people use medium shield booster and then they are forced to use capacitor rigs, that is fail and they should be killed for doing that to a tengu want to make as much isk per hour as possible? Then use that fit.

Awesome, thanks for that fit. I'll definitely go check it out piece by piece and see if it's within my budget. I'm assuming this will be a few bil; then I'll start training for it 8)

It should end up around 1.5bil, unless prices has gone mad lately.

Was able to find everything on the market except the CN pieces and the shield booster. Is my best bet just farming the LP?

You won't find faction or deadspace modules on the market, they are contract only items.
