I made a few trial accounts and finally bought an account...its REALLY confusing at first...i came from wow and eve is actually kinda refreshing but u gotta really bare through the learning process

ive prolly barely scratched the surface but im starting to get the hang of things. Learning the new skills (kinda like lvling in a game like wow but u dont have to be on to do it) can take longer than I like but on the upside you dont have to be on to advance ur skills...just log on to train a new one then u can log out which i LOVE. One of the biggest things i had trouble with at the start was picking a race...from tons of google searches and a few people giving me tips the only thing u really are worried about is getting some nice attributes and having a race picture you can stand looking at(and if ur into RP pick a race u find interesting)(i suggest looking up on what alot of people say starting attributes should be on google and stuff. all the other stuff aside from attributes doesnt really matter because you all the skills u get are starter skills so u can train them all eventually but try and pick something along the lines of what u want to start with.

join a corp can be a really good thing...i joined a corp recently and they have been funding my skills and will help me out with ships once i have the training...not to mention answers to all my questions

anyway like i said...im a noob as well but ive done alot of searches on the game lol but the 2 things ive been told that have stuck with me are

Dont fly a ship you cant afford to lose
dont expect to really get into the game for a month or two

getting from my starting ship to a retriever(mining ship) has/is taking me 14 days to just get the training for the ship but theres plenty of starter ships that dont take that long I just wanted to go straight for it

hope that somewhat helps

A REALLY good tip skills wise: Learn all your learning skills to level 4 ASAP, and learning to 5 to cut down on all the time it takes to learn things. I dont suggest doing it all right away, maybe a skill here and there, cause trust me, itll take a couple months to do it lol

make sure you get EVE MON. if you know what skills/items/ships you want to train for it will save you loads of time. saved me about a month when i was training for my megathron

take the tutorial. very, very useful especially if you're starting. I still even do the tutorial when i make new chars because it is a good way to start on ISK.

after you do the tutorial, go to you're starting station and do the missions that the agents have.

once you start getting the gist of things then you can look for a corporation. Ideally, you will want to find a corporation that helps new players. that's what i did when i first started playing and it was really good. just ask around in the chat channel 'rookie help' or w.e.

and it takes time. like pretty much all MMO's, Eve isn't something you can just start playing and get right into the swing of things. give it a few weeks and you'll be up there playing like all the others smile.gif

hope this helped.
