i know its a old question but is the def from sword really worth it over the dmg of wand? (now that we got +1ml wands and rods and nice average dmg...

is it really worth it? i mean the mana 'wasted' from rods as some would say give more magic exp no? so isnt it better to keep a wand or rod at all times anyways?

exept maybe at lvl 200 +- but im talking lvl 1-150+ ?

im currently lvl 87druid soloing hellspawns with a glacier rod and exori-exorigran-sds (depends on situation)

Depends what are you hunting, if you're hunting monsters that make very high mele physical damage (inq/lizard city) use a sword.
Hailstorm seems fine if you're hunting dls/hellspawns, because they mostly use magic.

use magic sword after lvl 180 imo

I don't believe the def from a weapon applies if you're wearing a shield/spellbook, just the shield def is factored in.
