Play Elite. Start perhaps with a cookie-cutter build. Either a Piercing Barrage Gadgeteer, or a Wisp Pyromancer.

Ya those builds are prolly the easiest to start with
A meteor pyro is also really good an owns once u get about lv 25 ish there build on the mythos forums

I think the easiest character to start with its a tesla gadgeteer. Right from the beginning you own. It ran right through to lvl 17 without a problem, then i had good enough items for my other characters i wanted to make.

I started off with a blood letter maxed out swerling dervish or some crap its pretty sick

A cookie cutter is literally a metal 'template' to cut cookies out of dough.
In the case of a gaming-build, it's a standard build, according to a well-accepted template.
Compare for instance with a Diablo II 'Hammerdin' or an 'Lightning Sorceress' or a 'Summoning Necromancer'; these are also cookie cutter builds.
If the other Mythos-related terms are eluding you too, I would advise you to check the Mythos forums, to find out what a Pyromancer is, or Meteor, or Piercing Barrage, etc, etc.
