Also Mythos has real missiles like d2 that you can escape from, not those sucky WoW homing missiles - this probably makes ping times more important than in WoW (depending on how they're implemented - I haven't tested it enough to say if they've got a good dead-reckoning system)

Yeah, good guess. I don't have dial-up and also no way of testing dial-up.

I did check my modem/router for a short while, while playing some Mythos, and during regular gameplay (doing a quest) I see traffic of about 2 to 4-5 Kbyte/s downlink, and about half of that in uplink speed. However, when changing maps, I see peaks of about 50-100Kbytes/s (on a 17Mbps ADSL line), so you might not like those switches in dial-up. Hard to guess how much real traffic is transferred there.

Also, do keep in mind Mythos downloads quite a bit of content when you first start/run it, so that might take a long, LONG time if/when you run it for the first time. This was however a lot less after installing the latest (post-Zone 3) client, so things might have improved there.

All in all, I can't give you an exact answer, but once Open Beta opens, you'll be able to find out for yourself, and I do hope you report your finding so that others can learn...?

Regards, Patrick.

as far as your speed... it will vary depending on how many people play and what not but yeah give it a try
