Hej,

Sorry in advance, my Swedish is minimal, but I'm pretty sure a lot of Swedes speak English.

Jag och min flickvän planerar att flytta till Sverige för ett år.
Vi har pengar och vi kommer att leva med en vän.
Vi kommer att vara i Malmö.

The problem is, as Canadians, (me being the only one of the two of us to speak basic Swedish) need to be able to find a job.
I was hoping that you would have suggestions.

We both speak English and French fluently.
I speak only basic Swedish.

Define "We have money"
I'm sure there are some companies that would like a person speaking fluent french. Customer service etc

According to the working holiday visa agreement between Canada and Sweden,
we both need to have ~2500$ CAD (15,000 SEK) to even qualify.
We both do so that we can sustain ourselves for a couple months

I appreciate the link, I'll check it out :)

Yeah I hear it's hard, was hoping that us being fluent in French would be an asset.
Do you think if we were to approach a Swedish company such as H&M or Volvo etc.
that we would be able to find some sort of job maybe dealing with sales for France and Canada or something?

My friend in Sweden thinks to come for education is the best option, so we're really trying to weigh all of our options.

Me: Warehouse jobs (forklifting), Customer Service, Cashier
My girlfriend: Customer Service, Waitressing, Hostessing (restaurant jobs)

Nothing that's really considered "skilled work"

If you want to get a job in sweden. Dont rely on Arbetsförmedlingen. That's an organisation that basically administrates unemployees rather then help putting them into labour.
You will have much better success contacting companies on your own!

Coming here for education would probably be a good option though! I know that Lund takes a huge amount of students from abroad into their programmes. I don't know though if that's on master level mainly.
Maybe somebody else can enlighten you.
