What's a good progression for fishing rods and fish levels to fish at.

ie: let's say you're rank 0 fishing, you'll be catching level 1 fish and the only fishing rod you should use is tier 1. At this point can you use a tier 2 fishing rod? Is there any benefit to it?

When do you start looking for a second tier fishing rod?

Its better to use rods that are close to the same level as your fishing rank.
use a tier II rod from rank 3-7 then change to tier III at rank 7-8 ect.

Fishing with higher leveled rods than your current skill level slows down the reeling process, but is safer for the rod.
Also you can fish with a rod 1 -2 levels lower than your rank - it reels faster than the appropriate one, but you have to cancel more if you dont want to risk beaking it.

So possible fishing :
-2 lvl rod to +3 lvl from your current level (that should be : Tier I rod = lvl 1-5 fishing, Tier II rod = lvl 6-10 fishing, etc.).
Try the first levels and decide, if you really want to invest so much time for such a low outcome.
Higher rods are rare and expensive, and you will lose some of them for mistaking and lag.
