If I am a level 20 hc fighter that already has 1 proficiency in swords and nothing in axes, is it too late to switch to axe? or does it make more sense to just jkeep lvlign up swords

Also, am I correct in assuming an axe would help more more than a sword?

You can switch to axes np...
that 1 sword prof wont make much if any diff in ur dmg.
And can make 1 prof in less than a climb

E: i would recomend atleast 100 vit for ur climb aswell.

Thanks so much for the help! TBH This is my first actual LS char haha. I started playing 2 days ago, and I died a few times. I decided to learn to play LS the way I learned to play Diablo, with HC Yea I've currently been dumping most of my points in vit, still a little fuzzy on the game but getting the hang of it haha!

On a full 1-71 solo climb with 0 prof you will gain rank 2.5 if using the same weapon type throughout the whole 1-71 period.
