My first time playing, I want to go barbarian with an axe. I realize my str and dex should stay equal, but I want to put some points into vit to make sure I stay alive. I'm not sure what kind of armor I should wear, the best armor I can find in the marketplace or should I stick to one specific type? Like only buy "Plate mail" armor, etc..

Only buy heavy armor for barbarian, which is chain and plate. Will keep you alive better. Can get some low ee ones for cheap since the economy on ls sucks.

Same for axes, keep ee on it.

On charm, I believe for axes you use strength now, but not 100% sure. Will have to have this 1 confirmed.

Yeah that sucks, seems really good. I can tell a lot of work went into making it. I hope it gets populated too

I prefer scales or leather armor. They have a better balance of physical and magical damage defense. With plates and chains, you really only have defense against physical damage. With this in mind, you'll no doubt find plates and chains cheaper. Just wanted to let you know of the downside Welcome and good luck

And that makes perfect sense, heavier the armor weaker it is against magic lol. I guess I picked the right armor type with plates being cheaper lol, I'm on a real tight budget. 37fg won't get me nowhere at higher levels lol.

1. make more toons to store extra gear on (2 is not enough)
2. you play softcore, death only matters towards proficiencies vs wpns / cast & heal charms... no need to pump more vita really... but... no more than 70
3. Chain mail has better minimum physical defense vs plates, whereas plates have higher maximum defense vs physical attack... either is good, and scales are good also.
4. best you get STAT armor and STAT main charms for Dexterity mostly (but Str does help)... reasoning... if you are pumping str, then you need dex items... also dex helps
... if you pass to Samurai which can use daggers but NOT axes (or go for swords)

Personally... I have gone off barb/fighters when I solo 95% of the time... just because I like hybrids better to keep me alive etc.
