Is Plate is better then scale for tanking?

Anyone explain why? I would think the magic def would be good to have

The last update made the mobs smarter, so if you wear a plate, they will hit you with magic more often. They have really nice physical defense, though! I think most people prefer leathers/scales for a balanced tank.

Older guides will say that plates and chains are best, but that changed a few updates ago with the revealing of magic defense. Now it is generally accepted that scales are the best

Keep in mind, a lot of the things you read in guides may be outdated and incorrect. It's always best to post here if you're unsure about anything you read in guides or whatever
