do differant weapons have differant attack speeds or is it all the same? meaning i want to go for the hardest hitting thing? like a warhammer and such?

Warhammers and other heavy weapons have a slower attack speed than regular weapons.

Heavy Weapons: Warhammers, Spears, Longswords, Battleaxes, Polearms- 2 Second attack speed

Regular Weapons: Clubs, Daggers, Swords, Axes, Staves- 1 Second attack speed
