im currently a melee monk, with a crappy wild heal and both dex armor and main charm
i use daggers and a mq staff with 159 ee
i still have horrible trouble soloing
like its possible, it just takes so many hits to kill things even though i do on average 875-900 dmg

should i sell all my stuff and go pure caster or what?

i always hear about people soloing and wish i could since im not in an LS guild and rarely have a full group going to MQ

any help would be appreciated. thanks

Solo'ing is slow.

Picking up an EE padded robe would help a little but monks aren't really solo'ing characters since robes. I may be incorrect though. Try joining a LS guild

try clicking it usually helps

I play hc (monk) and I solo all the time but I use a high EE paded robe level 45+ still take some dmg mainly from Ep's but its not to bad.


I wouldn't cast..I tried it for 7 climbs and unless you have some amazing max mana/intel gear I'd advise against it...the intel base and the mana just suck...I got maybe..3-4 casts out and had to go shrine and my abilitys never really reached any high %'s because i was always shrining. pain in the butt imo

I cast monk, and every other class, but I wouldn't do it if I didn't have balled gear. Soloing is fine for me, it's actually fun at higher levels, but I've invested roughly 30k into my level 55 monk setup for those 4 items.

I'd recommend just sticking with melee if you already have gear for it. Eventually you'll have to buy a MQ dagger for ninja also, so it may be good to start thinking about that now.



Something that'll help you a lot (besides ee robes, which are good but you lose a lot of damage so it's a trade off) is to buy a couple life regen items regen stuff is really cheap right now but totally still useful
