If that is the case, should I go for say 100 strength and 100 dex by the time I MQ. Or does it not matter whether I have 50 strength and 150 dex.

I usually only buy dex gear because of my dagger preference. Should I be using one item with dex and the other with strength?

It doesn't matter with axes. You can go all dex, all str, or half and half.

->

1 str = ~ .5ee
1 dex = ~ .5ee

You get a lower ee boost with axes than say clubs...

1str = ~ .9ee
1dex = ~ .1ee

You will however crit more often since the lower number effects critical chance. Whereas if you stat only str on a club you won't crit very often.

For sure a viable choice since you can make it all the way to warlock with just axes and daggers and only have to buy a dex set.

I shoot for my strength and dex to be even about the time I get my mq gear equipped. If you keep them balanced (50/50) you have better chance of critical hitting. Pure dex is not the way to go imo. You can balance the use of dex charms by simply statting strength though
