Hey, Im Jordan, I'm new to Ladder Slasher.

I normally play D2 and LoL, but decided to see what all the fuss is about here.

I started up my char....ran with a group for a while...followed the new player guide about buying gear, and hit level 36.


What I would like, is any other relevant info, such as are the skills really worth it?

I chose a barbarian by the way, as I mf baba'd on D2 all the time

I'm just trying to figure this game item, the items still blow my mind about whats good and what isn't.

I think ive read through nearly every piece of literature that there is out there, but the game is still a big plunge, as ive never really played anything of this sort before.

Any information, or anything that you might even think is information, would be greatly appreciated.

What you regulars take for granted....is probably something that just goes way over my head.

Unfortunately, many of the guides you read are probably outdated LS changes a lot very quickly


Basic rundown would go like this:

Choose a weapon type and stick with it. I would recommend swords because they can be used on the first 3 classes, but are more expensive than clubs or axes. Aim for 40+ enhanced effect on your tier III weapon but don't spend more than 1 fg on it.
As for armor, go for either medium or heavy armor (anything but robes!) with either enhanced effect (for more defense) or str/dex (for more damage, depends on your weapon type though. Strength for swords and clubs, dex for daggers and staffs. But barb can't use daggers and staffs so strength would be the better choice here). If you choose ee, try to get about the same ee as your weapon on a tier III but also don't spend more than 1 fg for your level 0 gear. If you choose strength aim for 12+ on your tier III (15 is max)
At low levels on charms I think it's most effective to get 200+ max life until level 5 or 10. After that go for strength because it will increase your damage.


Try to buy new gear every 5-10 levels. A good way to do it is to get levels 0/5/10/15/20/25/35/45/55 if you can afford it aim for gear that is a higher tier with similar or slightly higher stats. Unfortunately this game gets really expensive for decent high level items so be prepared to either spend a lot or do crap damage for a while

/e: oh yeah one last thing, personally I would recommend joining a slashing guild because they will help you a lot with advice and runs and all that fun stuff. My guild is always looking for new slashers to help out so if you're interested I'd recommend checking us out
