Well, having no gear and low fg, this doesn't seem like a game you can jump into. I lucked out and got carried up a ladder once, but how should I go about the process of joining a guild, gearing up through them/helping them in return etc.

Edit- Also. Buying the gear you may want is a lot tougher when the market doesn't have it. And I can't exactly slash for the gear either, groups wanted geared people?

First, make more characters, so if/when you die, you dont lose all gear.
You can transfer items trough marketplace, its free.

Secondly, climb multiple characters, so if you arent tied to just one level, but can jump in different levels, if group happens to be present.

And yeah well, polite users tend to be tolerated more than non-polite ones, in those cases what gear you use isnt really relevant.
What matters is that you are willing to put effort to game.

Just wait for good deals, dont use only last fg's for some minor upgrade.
If you have to invest something, invest first to 55 gear.

Yeah, I can slash all weekend if a guild will take me in - I follow instructions and rule well and would even provide a vent - if anyone here even does that.
