swords & longswords = cheap and stat mostly strength some dex
daggers & spears = some cheap stat all dex

samurai can't use spears

but he's right about the rest. you want to keep your stats in line with your weapon choice.

if you use a dagger, you want 90/10 ratio for dex/str... so if you have 180 dex you should have 20 strength.
use enhanced effect weapons
use enhanced effect leathers/scales/chains/plates or stat (str/dex) armors if you prefer damage over ability to take hits.
find a charm with dex/str
find heal charms with ee for your accessory slot
