It's My first Monk ever.
I'm planning to Melee/Heal
Currently my weapons are in between Dagger/Staff.
I put all my starting point in INT, planning to put all the rest of my stats in Dex.

Silverknight

My gear for this guy is scattered all over the place.

Dagger:

Mythical mithril dagger
Level Req: 25
Damage: 98 to 172

+61% Enhanced Effect
+1 Extra Equipment Slots
+4% Mind Numb
+1% Mana Syphon
+3% Heal Mastery

Staff:

Rare godwood staff
Level Req: 55
Damage: 140 to 375

+119% Enhanced Effect
+19% Heal Mastery

Heals:

Mystical focused heal X
Level Req: 35
Heals: 102 to 123
Mana Cost: 77

+96% Enhanced Effect
+1 Magic Luck
+3% Parry


Magical focused heal XII
Level Req: 45
Heals: 132 to 159
Mana Cost: 93

+111% Enhanced Effect


Magical focused heal XIV
Level Req: 55
Heals: 160 to 192
Mana Cost: 109

Alright, since I am the only other monk in BC and I just happen to be a hybrid healer monk I guess this is my area of expertise.

Im going to be honest with you Gelinda. This is a expensive build. If you do it right though, you can use the same gear for rogue/sammy/monk/ninja/mage.

Basically the idea is simple. For my character (More heal then damage but still more damage then alot of players) I use:
Dagger with ee/HM
Robe with HM/Int or HM/Dex or just HM(High hm needed if only HM)
Charm with HM/Dex
Focused heal on acc with as much ee as possible.

I dump ALL atats into INT for better heals because the monk has a good mix of starting stats.(This might change if I can ever get another ninja)
Examples of my gear:
Rare alloy dagger
Level Req: 15
Damage: 71 to 124

+94% Enhanced Effect
+26% Heal Mastery

Angelic fine alloy dagger
Level Req: 20
Damage: 75 to 132

+77% Enhanced Effect
+1 Magic Luck
+2% Armor Pierce
+25% Heal Mastery

Angelic diamond dagger
Level Req: 40
Damage: 141 to 247

+110% Enhanced Effect
+10% Experience Gained
+1% Physical Damage Reduction
+41% Heal Mastery

Mystical silk padded robe
Level Req: 15
Physical Defense: 0 to 13
Magical Defense: 18 to 46

+10 Dexterity
+1% Physical Damage Reduction
+30% Heal Mastery

Mystical nightshade padded robe
Level Req: 35
Physical Defense: 0 to 23
Magical Defense: 31 to 77

+17 Intelligence

Once again, this stuff was expensive and it took awhile to get it all together. Now if your looking for more damage and less heal the solution is simple. DEX DEX AND MORE DEX.

do this if you wanna pay extra fg for a healer

depending on how efficient you want to be at doing damage, you might want to focus on more ee on your weapons and more stats with hm/int as a bonus stat to amplify heals
thats how i would build it but to each his own

Him and I have a obvious disagreement on how to build a hybrid.
He is wrong though. You have played with me and you know I am not "a expensive healer". I do very good damage and very nice heals as well.
Also he is a hardcore player which might factor in to his opinion on just how expensive my build is.

There is no way that that gear is expensive on sc :) It's mediocre gear at best, as far as the job is concerned it gets it done.

Although saying you do very good damage is something ill just say no to, as that gear is mediocre at best no offense. I cannot judge your heals as I have no clue what heal charms you use.

I also have 22 dagger proficiency which boosts my damage up.
Trust me I do good damage.Your old gear above probably worked great before this new update but now it would not be so effective.
Reason being there is very little dex. I imagine I would do better damage now because of the update then you would do with that gear now.

at level 55 this is what your gear translates to melee wise.
level 55 dagger with 82ee (prof included)
a 55 robe with 20 life per kill
and a 35 charm with 18 dex
your healer will never be a hybrid its not a matter of opinion its a fact.
you will never do good damage with a character built so poorly, i dont need to be in a game with you to know this build is no more than a mediocre healer that can do 200 average damage

i am going by the gear YOU suggested for this build.
if either the op or you need help building a hybrid feel free to shoot me a pm, im always happy to help

You sir are once again incorrect (Your good at being incorrect).
With my 50 dagger that has 160+ee I do over 350 average damage
With the robe and the charm I get average 550 average heal.
My hybrid does just fine. Never hear any complaints from anyone.
Infact your the only person who ever puts it down and the fact of the matter is you dont play my character, you dont have my gear and you dont have my proficiency.
Here is a intreasting fact. I have been playing this game since you joined JSP.
I do not need help building my character because then it wouldnt be my character.
Also, there is no need to pm you remember? You (childishly I might add) send me a mocking PM then blocked me.

With my hybrid dagger up there I do around 270 average damage which is plenty from 40-50.
Its a little on the low end if I need to use it for 50+ as far as damage but with the extra HM I am quite capable of keeping a decent group healed and alive.

Yes so your 18 dex outways my 102 stats on the gear, I imagine you need to get back to the drawing board and do simple math.

As I said im sure it was great before 1.20.
Now though I dont think it would be near as effective with that 10dex.

I did some math though and 10 dex is still 10 dex :Rofl:
