In Ladder Slasher, it is NOT advisable to save your stat points. From the portal:

Quote
Vitality: Increases the base defense for armor. For every 25 stat points you have in vitality, you gain +1 to Life Regen.Every Level Up you will gain an amount of life equal to your base vitality.
Intelligence: Increases the base effect for charms. For every 25 stat points you have in intelligence, you gain +1 Mana Regen. Every Level Up you will gain an amount of mana equal to your base intelligence.

To be a healer, you want to stat INT from the beginning, EVERY level, or you lose out on some Mana in the long run. They already start with plenty of VIT, so don't worry about that.

I would also like to add that you will want a nice Heal with enhanced effect, the type does not matter much, go with what you like. Upgrade it when you can, but try to every 10-20 levels at the least, every 5-10 being optimal. For armor, you can go with an EE armor for tanking, or INT/HEAL MASTERY/MANA for more healing power. Weapons is similar, grab an EE club for more damage, or INT/HM/MANA for more healing, depending on your role.

Guards make great tanks, and good welling companions, although their damage is not as nice as say a Barb or Fighter, but they make up for that with healing power.

What im doing with my Guard is keeping Int and Vit at the same level up until I do master quest. I have a club that gives HM, my Armour is pure EE and my healing charms are also pure EE.

I don't do any damage at all, I just tank and heal the group and so far it has been working out very well.

statwise

i think the 55 base could be enough if u feel insecure then add maybe 10 points
rest should be int and put the 1st 10 points here

gear

first of all i wouldnt go for ee armor in my point of view

the reason is just plates dont take the magic dmg as well as the rest of the armors
but since u cant wear anything else i would go for a int or hm one and there pretty cheap i think also

depending if u want to go full healer or semi ur club should be a int or hm or a ee one

again depends if u want to support or to help kill stat charm for dmg or hm for heal
in 2nd slot put the ee heal charm

but i still consider guards worse picks in the new version :) might still be usefull as full healers but ah well hope it helped u out a little

Guards got buffed in the update I dont know if we play the same version?

Get Enhanced Effect clubs, EE / HM armor and Str or HM Charm (Str more damage and HM more heals)

Get Enhanced Effect heal charm for acc ofc.

Stat build is up to you, get some int = more mana higher heals or Str = more damage.

I also would not advise a pure healer, because you dont want to get less exp than the others.

EE-Chains are better than plates, because they reduce magical damage better.

Int > vit, because you should enhance your healing capacity and reduce the damage taken from magical attacks. Your physical reduction should be fine with basevit and EE-Chain, nn to increase that.

You could use EE-spears as well and stat dex instead of str. This makes tanking even better, because you also reduce the crits you take ;)
