best armor TYPE for a fighter using a nb leather armor with good EE on it. i like the balanced phys and magic dmg def on it but do i really need magic def? opinions appreciated.

Scales are best, because of their ratio of physical to magical defense.

You don't "need" magical defense, but it helps a whole lot ;)
