I currently use wild, but I notice I hit a lot on the lower end, way below the range of a equivalent healing charm. I was thinking of switching over to healing instead of focused, because it healing seems like it fares the best, but I haven't had any experience using one yet.

What do you recommend?

I personally use regular Heals. I like the relative consistency with the occasional high heal.

It's all based on preference. There's obviously a price difference that needs to be account for.

Wilds scare the crap out of me. I used my set for 1 climb to get my 1 prof and almost died 3x during wells. I much prefer the focused heals instead.

Preference... some notes:

Wild + Excessive amount of Heal Mastery to compensate for the lower end heals
Heal + Great amount of Heal Mastery to be very effective also
Focus + Good amount of Heal Mastery and still be effective

Yes you can use excessive amount of HM with any type of heals to improve healing averages, but then you can use other things as well.

I use Focus... because I have never made it to HH (or even Lock)... I am collecting up Wilds so that I can still heal with my HH (if ever)

I use both Heals and Focused's because.... well... I can?? I don't know, I like them both!!!
